Oprah Winfrey writes a touching tribute to her father, ‘peace still exists’


Oprah Winfrey recalled her father through a touching post on social media.

Vernon, Vernon’s father, was a Nashville barber and businessman. He died Friday at the age of 88 after fighting cancer.

Oprah, the media mogul, posted a tribute on Saturday to her father.

Oprah wrote the caption: “Vernon Winfrey 1983-2022.” “We honoured my father in his backyard less than a week ago. Wintley Phipps, my friend and gospel singer, sang a song in his honour. “He FELT the love and enjoyed it until he couldn’t speak,” Oprah wrote alongside a video.

She said, “Yesterday, with his family around his bedside, I had the sacred honour of witnessing the man responsible to my life, take his final breath.” At his passing, we could feel Peace entering the room.

“That Peace is still there. All is well. She ended the caption by thanking everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts.

Oprah celebrated 4th July with a surprise party for her father on Monday.
